| First images with the USB
digital video camera using a 6 inch Mak-Cass telescope
and various eyepiece projection - approximately effective f/20 to
f/40. These images were made in marginally fair seeing
conditons, over a couple evenings from my Livermore CA backyard.
AVI
files were recorded, roughly 1000 frames per set. AVI processing
was done with RegiStax and final adjustments of still images with Photo
Shop. Considering only 6 inches of apeture and modest seeing conditions, resolution of fine features is pretty respectable. The camera is an 8 bit system, but the images look more like they were made with a 12 or 16 bit camera. Still experimenting with camera settings and multi-point processing in RegiStax. Looking forward to imaging in really good seeing conditions. More soon.... |
