Seeing conditions shortly after midnight on August 9th were fair, with
low contrast, but by 1:00pm PDT seeing had improved some affording
good views of the beginning of Europa's transit, and an hour later,
Ganymede coming out of eclipse. Shot with a near IR filter and
DMK21,
C9 @ f/10 & f/25.
Seeing was quite soft, maybe 2/5. Images shot at f/25 were
unusable, just low contrast smeary blobs,
but those shot at f/10 worked up well, all things considered. I
originally was after the dark impact spot,
which can just be seen on the lower right edge of the top image, but
was pleased to capture several Jovian
satellites; Europa had just transited Jupiter and Io came out of
eclipse by Jupiter. 25 July 2009.

Seeing was not favorable for large
scale
imaging of craters so I decided to explore some prominent ejecta
ray systems and maria ridges in
wide field. All
these images were shot the morning of July 14 or July 16, 2009
with the C9 @ f/10 using a DMK21 video camera and
UV/IR block filter.
